Tourism Industry Achiever Award
October 9th, 2008 by philwalcottI was delighted to receive the 2008 Central Australian Tourism Industry Achiever Award at the Tourism Awards ceremony held here in Alice Springs on Friday 26th September at our fabulous Convention Centre. What an honour!! Through the conduits of The Rainbow Connection and Alice IS Wonderland, I have spent much of the past decade promoting the local region and the NT generally to national and global gay/lesbian travel markets with the proactive support of Tourism Central Australia, Tourism NT, Territory Discoveries and Tourism Australia. It’s been an absolute privilege to be associated with such a fabulous local gay & lesbian as well as mainstream community - this place is pretty easy to promote. It really IS a wonderland of great people, stunning country, old spirit and nurturing the ‘being’ in all of us. To my industry colleagues and friends my heartfelt thanks for this tremendous recognition of my efforts. To my life partner, Glenn, my loving thanks for all that you do to support my efforts, your encouragement of my development and your love. It is so special to have you as my ‘angel on Earth’ and I thank the Universe every day for you being such a special part of my life.
